Where
Scientists think there may be 2,000 species of jellyfish. They come in all sorts of colour, from pale pink or blue to bright orange-red of screaming yellow. Some jellyfish are transparent. Jellies are also range in size from about two and a half centimeters to more than two metres long!
All jellies sting, but not all jellies have poison that hurts humans. Of the 2,000 species of jellyfish only about 70 seriously harm or occasionally kill people. The Australian box jellyfish, or sea wasp, is the most dangerous jelly in the world. It can kill you within minutes. Many beaches in Australia have kits with special medicine in case it happens to swimmers.
